In preparing for the information afternoon for those who have joined the church in the last five or so years I began thinking about the last seven years I have had the privilege of being vicar of Old Felixstowe. It made me think about what has changed and how we have sought to grow together in our faith. This led me to look at the application I wrote for the role. In my application I highlighted four key priorities I discerned from the profile of the parish.
In October Helen and I were involved in a conference that explored the themes of Healing and Wholeness. It was great to hear input from the team from the Guild of St Luke and St Raphael (also known as Gohealth) as we explored together how we can be churches where all can find healing and wholeness through faith in Jesus Christ.
One of the many joys of being vicar of Old Felixstowe is when I get the opportunity I get to spend with people, talking about faith and prayer. I am struck by the rich experience that people have and the desire to grow in depth in their relationship with Jesus.
A huge thank you for your support of Boost in 2024. We’ve seen a busy start to the year, most recently with the whole of Year 7 coming to the Garden during their health and wellbeing enrichment day. Thank you to Rev. Chris and to Jean for leading a session around the campfire, reflecting on mental health, wellbeing, and noticing things in creation around us, and to all the other volunteers who joined us from local churches throughout the day.
